Seemingly condemned to permanent exile in a politically near infrared state, as a blueish guy back in the early 2000s I began blogging to try and make sense of the world. Some might say I’m lying but I blogged mostly to put my thoughts down in some hard form. Since blogging back then was sort of hip, some might accuse me of attempting to draw attention to myself and my views. The same can still be said about those surfing Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and all the other social media sites.
After fifteen years of throwing my shit and other concerns against the internet wall, I finally grew tired of the whole process. During those years I did make numerous friends, none living anywhere near me, and left my kids with a hundreds of what I will call essays and short stories. Probably enough to convince them that their old man was crazy and a product of a stunted and morally bankrupt society.
Since 2021, when I posted my last entry, I have further watched the world evolve and often considered returning to my blog. It’s still up and while any traffic it gets is only a few wandering souls who chance upon my ravings I have no desire to add anything to it.
Now it’s 2023 and I have a faint and nebulous urge to write again. Whether I will actively pursue this hobby again I have no idea.
It’s just that the world has greatly changed from just ten years ago when my last blog was in its prime with me pumping out posts at least weekly.
I find the return of this blogging urge sort of funny. Blogs have long since been superseded in the social media world making me feel like a dinosaur that suddenly found itself on a world filled with mammals.
But then again, I’m just doing this to sort out and organize my thoughts and views.
